Built for indie game developers

All the tools you need in one place

GameTrowel is the all-in-one marketing platform that gives indie developers the same superpowers big publishers have — without the price tag, the complexity, or the corporate nonsense.

The problem

Indie devs spend more time marketing than making games

Juggling separate tools for email, social media, press outreach, and analytics

Watching great games fail because marketing was an afterthought, not a lack of quality

Paying enterprise prices for features designed for Fortune 500 companies, not indie studios

Guessing at marketing strategy with no game-specific guidance or launch playbooks

Our story

We started GameTrowel after watching too many brilliant games disappear into the void. Not because they weren't good enough. They were incredible. They disappeared because their developers were handed a marketing playbook written for companies with million-dollar budgets and full-time PR teams.

We've seen solo developers spend months building a game, only to launch it with a hastily written Steam description, no press coverage, and a Discord server with twelve members. It's not their fault. The tools they needed either didn't exist or cost more than their entire development budget.

So we built the platform we wished existed: every marketing tool an indie dev needs, in one place, at a price that makes sense when your revenue is measured in wishlist counts, not quarterly earnings. We're a small, fully remote team of developers and gamers who use our own product every day.

Every indie game deserves the chance to find its audience. Marketing shouldn't be the thing that kills a great project.

What we believe

Principles, not platitudes

These aren't aspirational wall posters. They're constraints we hold ourselves to when making every product decision.

Indie first, always

Every feature starts with one question: does this help a solo developer or a 3-person studio? If it only matters at scale, it can wait.

Radical transparency

No hidden fees, no feature gates designed to frustrate you into upgrading, no dark patterns. Our pricing page tells you exactly what you get.

Opinionated by design

We don't give you a blank canvas and call it flexibility. We give you proven templates, smart defaults, and real guidance — because you have a game to finish.

Your data, your audience

Your mailing list, your press contacts, your analytics — they belong to you. Export everything, anytime, no questions asked. Zero lock-in.

Our promise

We'll never lose sight of who we're building for

It's easy to chase enterprise contracts and lose the indie spirit. We've made commitments to make sure that never happens, and we mean every single one.

Free tier stays free forever. No bait-and-switch
No investor pressure to compromise what works
Support answers from real humans who play games
Your exported data works without us
Pricing scales with your success, not before it
We ship features indie devs actually request
Community feedback drives the roadmap, not enterprise deals
